 Leeds & Grenville Advantages

Location
The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville, with a land area of 3,350.57 square kilometres, is located on the north shore of the St. Lawrence River; where the world renowned 1000 Islands region of the St. Lawrence River is located. This area is connected to New York State via the Ivy Lea/Thousand Island International Bridge and the Prescott/Ogdensburg International Bridge. In addition, it is well-served by provincial highways connecting it to Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa. The Seaway Port of Prescott handles dry bulk materials (grain, road salt and aggregate) in eastern Ontario. Both the Town of Gananoque and the City of Brockville are the gateways to the Thousand Islands region. With the abundance of rivers and lakes, tourism is a major economic sector in the area. In recent years, due to their proximity to Ottawa, North Grenville and Merrickville-Wolford have seen substantial population growth.
