The financial activities of the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville are coordinated through the Corporate Services Division.
The Accounting Services Department provides accounting and treasury services to all departments of the Counties. It is responsible for policy recommendations on finance and related issues to the CAO and Council. The Department is responsible for current transaction-oriented financial activities through accounting services such as banking and cash receipting; investments and debt management; and accounts payable.
The Department coordinates the preparation and presentation of the annual current and capital budgets, forecasts and develops recommendations to Council for tax ratio and tax rates, provides reporting on budget versus actuals and performs financial analysis related to various Counties´ projects. The Department is also responsible for the Counties´ accounting activities and systems as well as maintenance of the Counties´ assets and liabilities.
The Finance and Special Services Department is responsible for all financial operations within the Community and Social Services Division. Payments and benefits for Childrens´ Services, Community Housing, Ontario Works, and related programs are processed by this Department. Financial tracking and reporting, service contracting, purchasing and budgeting for the Community and Social Services Division are centralized through this Department.
