The 911 Dispatch system is an emergency call system that allows the citizens of the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville, the City of Brockville and the City of Prescott to call 911 in order to receive emergency assistance. If an emergency service needs to be dispatched, the 911 dispatch system will then alert the appropriate agency (Fire, Medical or Police) of the situation. The agency will then dispatch the necessary resources required to handle the emergency situation.
The Joint Services committee of the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville funds the operation of the 911 Dispatch System. The 911 Management sub-committee, which reports to Joint Services, manages the 911 Dispatch System for all the municipal partners involved.
In October 2003, the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville through the 911 Management Committee, retained the services of the OPP to provide 911 Dispatch services to our citizens for a 2 year contract period.
